Here's a scene every superintendent knows. It's 6:45 on a Tuesday, the drywall foreman is standing in a stairwell with a paper printout of a schedule that got marked up in the trailer last Thursday. He's got twelve guys about to load into a wing where the electrician pulled his crew Monday to chase an inspection somewhere else. Nobody told the drywall foreman. - Deliveries are dependencies too. The most common reason a crew stands around is material that isn't staged. If the look-ahead ties an activity to its material — and the foreman can confirm it landed before he mobilizes a crew — you stop paying men to wait for a truck.
