About LookAheadWall
Built by a construction professional who solved his own problem
The Founder
LookAheadWall was created by Scott Stearns, a retired military veteran and Purple Heart recipient who transitioned into construction in 2014. Working for owner-builders in multi-family construction, Scott quickly recognized a fundamental problem on job sites.
The Problem
There was a communication gap between the official scheduling software used in the office and the workers in the field who actually needed that information. Foremen and crew leaders were expected to execute complex schedules they rarely saw or fully understood.
The Original Solution
Scott's solution started with an actual physical board in his construction trailer. He mounted 8 dry erase boards on rollers, with each board representing one week of the schedule. Every week, he would erase the oldest board and move it to the end, always maintaining an 8-week lookahead to show foremen during weekly meetings.
This simple, visual system transformed how his crews understood and executed the project schedule. The "look ahead wall" became the centerpiece of every coordination meeting.
From Whiteboard to Software
LookAheadWall brings that same proven approach to your screen. It's not about replacing sophisticated scheduling software—it's about bridging the gap between the master schedule and the people doing the work. Simple, visual, and built for the field.
Our Mission
To make project schedule information accessible to everyone who needs it. We believe the people building your project deserve to see the plan, not just hear about it secondhand.
